Carlos Castaneda Killed in Traffic Accident on 5 Freeway [Stockton, CA]

Trailer Tire Detaches and Strikes Van in Stockton Killing the Driver

 
STOCKTON, CA (December 15, 2023) – Carlos Castaneda died in traffic accident in Stockton Wednesday night on December 13.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. along 5 Freeway near Highway 12. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck was towing a concrete pumping trailer when one of the trailer’s tires popped off. The tire crossed over the guardrail and hit the front of a Toyota Sienna, driven by Castaneda.
 
Castadena died at the scene. His wife Christina was in the vehicle with him and suffered injuries to her  face.

Three other people in the Toyota were taken to the hospital with minor injuries or for precautionary reasons.
 
The driver of the pickup truck stopped and cooperated with officers.
 
Loved ones sest up a GoFundMe page for Castaneda’s funeral expenses.
 
It is unknown what caused the tire to detach from the trailer. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be a factor. An investigation is underway.
