Christopher Smith Faces DUI Charges, Linda Bell Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Tree on Highway 108 near Koinonia Court

 
TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (May 24, 2024) Christopher Smith faces DUI charges after crashing a car into a tree on Highway 108 near Koinonia Court.
 
According to theCalifornia Highway Patrol, the single-car crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on May 22. For DUI reasons, 59-year-old Christopher Smith allowed his car to leave the road and crash into a tree. Subsequently, emergency personnel responded to the scene to find a 2015 Jeep Cherokee with damage. Cal Fire officials said that Twain Harte Fire extricated at least one person from the vehicle.
 
Due to their conditions, paramedics airlifted Smith and his 65-year-old female passenger, Linda Bell, to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
 
Following the accident, authorities confirmed that DUI played a role in the crash and arrested Smith for DUI.
