Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Two Cars on Crenshaw Boulevard in Baldwin Village Area, One Car Flees Scene

 
BALDWIN VILLAGE, CA (January 19, 2024) – A bicyclist died in a hit-and-run crash on Crenshaw Boulevard near the Baldwin Village area Wednesday evening on January 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:30 p.m. just south of Stocker Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the bicyclist was crossing eastbound Crenshaw Boulevard when a vehicle heading northbound on Crenshaw struck him. The impact launched the victim into the air and landed on the ground.
 
Moments later, a speeding sedan hit the bicyclist a second time.
 
After the crash, the driver of the first vehicle stayed on scene and tried to help the bicyclist. However, the driver of the second vehicle kept going.
 
Arriving paramedics found the bicyclist unresponsive. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 59-year-old man.

The city is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect involved in this hit-and-run.
