FRESNO, CA (September 7, 2023) — On Tuesday evening, a bicyclist ended up in the hospital after colliding with a train near Olive and Blackstone Avenues.
 
The Fresno police said they received a call about the incident before 6 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that a man had been riding his bicycle against traffic in the eastbound lane of Olive Avenue. The said bicyclist had tried to cross the train tracks but was unable to do so in time and the collision happened.
 
According to reports, the train was traveling at approximately 35 mph. The police said that the train conductor observed the bicyclist attempting to cross but was unable to bring the train to stop in time.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities have confirmed that the bicyclist was in critical condition when emergency responders transported him to the hospital.
