37-Year-Old Helena Rhinehart Dies after Car Crash on Highway 168 near Ashlan Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (September 6, 2023) – Authorities identified 37-year-old Helena Rhinehart as the driver killed in an accident on Highway 168, early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 5, at about 3:10 a.m. A 2007 Dodge Charger reportedly lost control and crashed into a 2015 Nissan Altima near the Ashlan Avenue off-ramp.
 
The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to overturn. As per reports, both driver became pinned in their vehicles.
 
Emergency crews transported Rhinehart to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died.
 
A GoFundMe page has been set up to offer support to Rhinehart’s four children.
 
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Dodge driver, identified as Terik Jones, suffered critical but non-life-threatening injuries. He was also taken to CRMC.
 
CHP ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors in the crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
