OAKLAND, CA (December 14, 2023) — At least one person suffered an injury in a multi-car accident on the 580 Freeway near Highway 13.
 
According to California Highway Patrol authorities, the multi-vehicle crash happened around 8:23 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, roughly four vehicles crashed on the westbound side of the 580 Freeway, just west of Highway 13.
 
Due to the crash, all lanes were blocked as paramedic units entered the scene to assist those with injuries. By 8:30 a.m., the right lanes were still blocked until 9:01 a.m. when all westbound lanes reopened.
