Driver of Stolen Car Charged After Crashing Into Several Police Cars near Highway 41 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (December 14, 2023)— A man faces multiple charges after the stolen car he was driving crashed during a police chase on Highway 41 near Ashlan Avenue.
 
According to Fresno Police, the incident happened around 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Due to a suspect driving recklessly, undercover police officers began to follow the vehicle near Bulldog Lane. Subsequently, they requested a helicopter, which followed the car as it drove through Fashion Fair Mall.
 
At some point during the chase, officers closed in on the vehicle twice, but the suspect crashed through them both times.
 
Moments later, the driver crashed on Highway 41 and took off running. However, officers detained him despite some struggle and arrested him for assault with a deadly weapon and stolen vehicle and property.
