Adrian Garcia Detained in Police Pursuit, Wrong-Way Accident on Highway 101 near Telephone Road
VENTURA, CA (May 11, 2023) — Adrian Garcia faces charges in a police chase and a wrong-way crash on Highway 101 near Telephone Road.
According to California Highway Patrol officers, the chase started around 2:00 a.m. Sunday. For DUI reasons, Adrian Garcia drove northbound on the southbound side of Highway 101. Subsequently, officers attempted to stop his wrong-way vehicle, a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. However, Garcia fled even after crashing into a CHP car.
The Mitsubishi continued on the highway and forced a 1998 Toyota Avalon driver off the side of the road. That driver suffered minor injuries.
As the suspect attempted to turn through the center median, south of Highway 33, the Mitsubishi became disabled. Ventura County Sheriff’s Office deputy and multiple CHP units surrounded the area and took 22-year-old Garcia into custody.
The Ventura man faces three felony charges and remains booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.
