SHAFTER, CA (February 29, 2024) — Eric Hoffman died in a multi-car accident on Zerker Road near 7th Standard Road.
 
According to the Shafter Police Department, the fatal multi-vehicle collision happened Tuesday around 6:50 a.m. For an unknown reason, four vehicles crashed on Zerker Road one mile north of 7th Standard Road.
 
Shortly thereafter, Shafter police arrived to find 74-year-old Eric Hoffman, from Bakersfield, with fatal injuries. In addition, two others suffered minor to moderate injuries and required hospital care while five others reported injuries of unknown severity.
