Charlotte Buck Injured, Stephen Waldman Involved in Fatal Car Accident on Highway 246 [Buellton, CA]

73-Year-Old Charlotte Buck Hospitalized in Fatal Buellton Car Crash

 
BUELLTON, CA (October 6, 2022) — Charlotte Buck suffered moderate injuries in a fatal car accident on Highway 246 near Skytt Mesa Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. For unknown reasons, 71-year-old Stephen Waldman made an unsafe U-Turn. He reportedly veered toward the side of the road from the westbound side to prepare for his turn.
 
However, his Honda Accord struck the right rear of a Honda CRV that had been driving behind him.
 
Due to the impact, the Honda struck an oak tree.
 
Soon after, American Medical Response team members arrived and brought the Honda driver to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria where she died from her injuries. Officers have withheld her name pending notification of relatives.
 
A passenger in the CR-V, identified as 73-year-old Charlotte Ann Buck, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
 
As for Waldman, who reported no injuries, he stayed at the scene for the investigation.
