69-Year-Old Woman Dies in Tulare County Two-Car Crash on Highway 216

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (February 7, 2022) — A 69-year-old woman died in a car accident on Highway 216 near El Rio Drive on Friday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 21-year-old driver failed to slow down behind an SUV attempting a turn onto a private driveway. Subsequently, the vehicle operated by the 21-year-old driver crashed into the car, pushing it into a parked semi-truck.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and extricated the 69-year-old woman in the SUV and brought her to Kaweah Health Medical Center, where she died.
 
At this time, the 21-year-old is cooperating with police investigators, who believe alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the accident. If anyone has more information on this crash, please call the CHP.
