4 Hospitalized in Police Chase Crash Involving Semi-Truck on Conejo Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (September 16, 2022) — Four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a police chase accident involving a big rig on Conejo Avenue at Cedar Avenue.
 
According to Fresno Police, the two-vehicle crash happened around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday. However, before that, Fresno Police located a gray SUV speeding along Jensen Avenue. At the time, the officer realized that the car was possibly the same silver SUV connected to a shooting incident the day before.
 
As the officer tried to pull over the vehicle, the driver sped off and Fresno Police used a helicopter to track the fleeing SUV.
 
During the chase, the driver sped through Highway 41, reaching speeds of 130 miles per hour. Subsequently, the SUV traveled onto southbound Cedar Avenue and smashed into a big rig traveling eastbound on Conejo Avenue. Due to the impact, the big rig overturned, leaving the driver unharmed.
 
Following the collision, authorities and paramedics found four people inside the suspect vehicle and brought them to Community Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
