3 Teens Die after Car Crashes into Canal near Poleta Road

 
BISHOP, CA (November 1, 2021) — Three teens die after a car crashes into a canal near Poleta Road and Airport Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened Thursday on a dirt road south of Poleta Road.
 
For unknown reasons, a 16-year-old driver in a 2010 Honda Accord heading southbound at an unknown speed drifted off the road. Subsequently, the Honda overturned and crashed into a canal where the car submerged into the water.
 
Soon after, CHP officers responded to find the teen driver, as well as her 19-year-old and 15-year-old passengers dead at the scene.
 
At this time, an explanation for the crash and the victims’ identities have yet to be confirmed. However, anyone with more information on this crash should contact the CHP.
