Woman Asleep in Alley Hit, Killed by Dumpster Truck on Trinity Street

 
REDDING, CA (November 1, 2021) — A woman asleep in an alley was struck and killed by a garbage truck on Trinity Street near Market Street.
 
According to Redding Police, the fatal incident happened around 7:53 a.m. Friday. In the investigation, officers learned that a garbage truck driver did not see a sleeping woman wrapped in dark blankets in the road. Subsequently, the truck driver struck the woman who consequently suffered major traumatic injuries.
 
Following the accident, authorities responded to an alley behind Wienerschnitzel. There, they rendered medical aid, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
 
At this time, investigators are piecing together what had happened. Thus far, they learned that the driver entered the alley and emptied a large dumpster before it made a right turn and ran over the woman’s body.
