3 Hospitalized, 4-Car Accident on Highway 99 in Chico

 
CHICO, CA (October 31, 2023) — Three people were injured in a 4-car accident on Highway 99 at Garner Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the four-vehicle collision happened around 7:32 a.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a dump truck collided with a Toyota Prius, a Honda CRV and a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV waiting at a red traffic light.
 
As a result, the Honda CRV and the Chevy driver sustained minor injuries. Additionally, a Chevy Tahoe passenger reported moderate injuries.
 
Due to the crash, police closed the highway and reopened it at 8:15 a.m.
 
At this time, authorities will look into the possible factors of the accident, including if the dump truck driver fell asleep as he had claimed.
