Northbound Lane Blocked after Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 99 near Gaia Way in Chico

 
CHICO, CA (June 13, 2022) – Two people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 99, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on June 10 at about 5:00 a.m. A southbound vehicle reportedly drifted into the northbound lane, where it collided head-on with a big rig near Gaia Way.
 
Due to unknown circumstances, two other vehicles also became involved in the collision.
 
As per reports, two people sustained minor injuries. However, it is unknown if the victims needed hospitalization.
 
Responders closed the northbound lane until 6:45 a.m. to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
