Rick Lizotte Hurt in Deadly Crash with Tree on Highway 36 near Highway 172

 
MINERAL, CA (June 13, 2022) — Rick Lizotte suffered major injuries in a fatal crash with a tree on Highway 36 near Highway 172 on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-car accident happened around 4:38 p.m. For unknown reasons, 62-year-old Lizotte failed to negotiate a slight curve in the road and struck a large tree.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded to the scene and found Lizotte’s Lincoln MKZ against a tree and airlifted him to Mercy Medical Center with major injuries.
 
As for his 60-year-old female passenger, she died at the scene.
 
At this time, investigators have yet to confirm information leading to the cause of the crash. However, if anyone has seen this accident, please call the Susanville Office of the CHP.
