2 Hospitalized in Head-On Accident on Highway 62 in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 22, 2023) — Two people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 62 near the 10 Freeway.
 
According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the two-vehicle crash happened around 9:06 a.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, two drivers crashed in a head-on fashion on Highway 62 near the 10 Freeway.
 
Firefighters responded shortly after to find two cars with significant damage. Riverside County Fire officials transported two people with critical injuries to an area hospital. Due to the accident, one car caught fire, and three acres of vegetation burned.
 
Due to the blaze, Palm Springs Fire Department, Cathedral City Fire Department and Cal Fire San Bernardino units arrived to extinguish the fire.
 
Crews were forced to close down the westbound transition road to Highway 62 from the 10 Freeway as they worked on the scene. Authorities did not specify what led to the accident, but more on this crash will be available once we receive additional information.
