2 Killed in Head-On Crash on Phelan Road in Phelan

 
PHELAN, CA (April 16, 2024) — Two drivers died in a head-on accident on Phelan Road near Tumbleweed Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened around 8:15 p.m. Sunday. For unknown reasons, a 38-year-old Oak Hills woman in an eastbound 2018 GMC Yukon entered the westbound lane and crossed into the path of a westbound 2015 Subaru Forester. Subsequently, both vehicles collided head-on.
 
Soon after, San Bernardino County Fire arrived and pronounced the Subaru driver dead at the scene. Officials did not release his name, only describing him as a 27-year-old man. Upon spotting a trapped female in the Yukon, firefighters used extrication tools and requested a helicopter to airlift her to a hospital where she passed away.
 
It appears there was another passenger in one of the cars — a girl between 3 to 5 years old. However, reports did not specify her condition.
