1 Person Dies in Rollover Crash on Highway 99 in Shafter

 
SHAFTER, CA (August 5, 2022) — One person died in a rollover accident on Highway 99 near Lerdo Highway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a driver lost control of a tan Toyota Camry. Subsequently, the Toyota veered off the highway and rolled over several times with an unknown number of people inside.
 
The Toyota finally came to a rest in a field off the road, where it caught on fire. In the wake of the crash, one person reportedly suffered fatal injuries.
 
At this time, the Kern County coroner’s office has yet to release the victim’s name. However, we will update this report once we receive more information.
