Woman Struck, Killed by Drivers on 10 Freeway in Thousand Palms

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (August 5, 2022) — A woman was hit and killed by several cars on the 10 Freeway near Bob Hope Drive on Thursday morning.
 
According to authorities, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 11:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a woman parked her vehicle on an overpass over the eastbound 10 Freeway. She then reportedly leaped off the bridge, jumping onto the freeway lanes where a tractor-trailer and another vehicle struck her.
 
Shortly after, authorities and fire paramedics responded to the scene. However, the woman, believed to be in her 50s, succumbed to her injuries moments later. Authorities have yet to release her name.
 
At this time, investigators do not know the reason for the incident or events that occurred before the crash. However, if anyone would like to help the California Highway Patrol, please call the department.
