1 Person Dead in Head-On Crash on Highway 101 in Humboldt County

 
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (November 21, 2022) — One person died in a head-on accident on Highway 1 near Weott.
 
According to reports, the fatal two-vehicle collision happened around 3:54 p.m. Saturday.
 
For unknown reasons, a white sedan and a black SUV crashed on the southbound side of Highway 1 at mile marker 30.3. Soon after, the emergency dispatcher sent out Myers Flat Volunteer Fire Department, Miranda Fire Department and Cal Fire from the Weott station to the accident.
 
One person was confirmed dead, and another suffered major injuries. Information as to what drove the accident appears unclear. Though, the California Highway Patrol will be investigating this crash to determine what happened.
