Elderly Woman Dies after Crashing Head-On with Another Car on Mission Gorge Road in Lake Murray

 
LAKE MURRAY, CA (November 21, 2022) – An 85-year-old woman was killed in a head-on accident on Mission Gorge Road in the Lake Murray neighborhood of San Diego on Friday.
 
Around 5:21 p.m. on November 18, officers from the San Diego Police Department responded to the 9000 block of Mission Gorge Road. Upon arrival, they learned that the victim was driving a 2018 Toyota Corolla westbound on Mission Gorge. She then struck a 2021 Toyota Venza head-on, driven by a 70-year-old woman heading eastbound.
 
Paramedics rushed the elderly woman in the Corolla to a hospital, where she later died.
 
The driver of the Venza was taken to a hospital with complaints of pain in her pain chest, neck and back.
 
Police said they did not suspect that the driver of the Corolla was driving under the influence.
