1 Person Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on Van Nuys Boulevard in Arleta

 
ARLETA, CA (August 17, 2023) — One person died in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Van Nuys Boulevard near Canterbury Avenue.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the deadly hit-and-run happened on August 12 around 10:50 p.m. For an unknown reason, a driver of a black Infiniti Q50 heading westbound plowed into a bicyclist also heading westbound. Rather than stopping to help, the driver, described as a man about 24 years old standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, left the scene heading southbound on Canterbury Avenue.
 
The cyclist, who remains unidentified, passed away in the crash.
 
Now officers need the public’s help and are offering a $50,000 reward for any information that can lead to the driver’s arrest. Those with information can call 818-644-8036.
