Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on 80 Freeway in Richmond

 
RICHMOND, CA (September 1, 2022) – One person died and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on 80 Freeway in Richmond early Wednesday morning, August 31.
 
The accident happened around 2:49 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just east of Hilltop Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, three vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they located one vehicle that had landed on its roof.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, one person died at the scene. The identity of the deceased victim was not immediately available.
 
Paramedics transported two other people to hospitals with unspecified injuries.
