Fatal Two-Car Accident on Highway 138 in Phelan

 
PHELAN, CA (October 13, 2022) – One person died and another was critically injured in a two-car accident on Highway 138 in Phelan on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 12:49 p.m. on October 12 at Oil Well Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Dodge sedan and a Silver Kia sedan collided at the intersection.
 
Emergency personnel with the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded and located both vehicles with major damage.
 
Despite life-saving measures, one person was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
An air ambulance took another patient to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. That person had major injuries and a broken right leg.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
