1 Dead After Car Hits Pole, Building on Manchester Avenue in South Los Angeles

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (May 6, 2024) — A driver died after a car crashed into a pole and an unoccupied building on Manchester Avenue near Central Avenue.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal single-car crash happened around 12:20 a.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a motorist heading westbound on Manchester Avenue lost control. Subsequently, the vehicle crashed into a light pole and an unoccupied building.
 
Minutes later, emergency personnel arrived and found the driver, who was ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, he died from severe injuries. However, his passenger, a woman of an unknown age, survived the accident and sought hospital care.
