1 Killed, Multi-Vehicle Fiery Crash on Highway 12 in Lodi

 
LODI, CA (August 25, 2023) — One person died in a multi-car fiery accident on Highway 12 near Guard Road.
 
According to Caltrans, the deadly multi-vehicle collision happened Thursday. Authorities say a Nissan driver attempted to pass traffic in the eastbound lanes. After crossing over solid double yellow lines, the Nissan crashed into a big rig.
 
Subsequently, both vehicles were pushed into a nearby 30,000-gallon propane tank, causing both cars to catch fire. Although the big rig driver escaped the fire, the Nissan driver did not.
 
Soon after, paramedics and authorities responded and pronounced the Nissan driver dead at the scene. Officers have no other information surrounding this crash. However, those who have more information can contact The California Highway Patrol.
