72-Year-Old Hui Juan Xuan Dies after Struck by SUV on Alum Rock Avenue in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 21, 2022) – Hui Juan Xuan was killed in a pedestrian accident in San Jose on March 2.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:34 a.m. along Alum Rock Avenue near the 680 Freeway on-ramp. According to the San Jose Police Department, Juan Xuan was walking in a crosswalk across the entrance to the northbound freeway when a 2006 Chevrolet HHR struck her.
 
The impact caused the victim serious injuries. Paramedics rushed her to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Juan Xuan was a 72-year-old San Jose resident, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
 
Police said the driver stopped at the scene and that there is no evidence that he was driving impaired. There is also no indication that the driver was cited or arrested.
