Man Killed in Motorized Scooter Accident on Imperial Highway [Los Angeles, CA]

Man Fatally Struck after Motorized Scooter Crash on Imperial Highway near Grandee Avenue

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2022) — A 40-year-old man died following a motorized scooter accident on Imperial Highway on Saturday, March 19.
 
Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department said a 19-year-old drove a vehicle eastbound on Imperial Highway. Then he made a left turn onto Grandee Avenue where his vehicle hit the scooter at about 10:50 p.m.
 
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and died.
 
The 19-year-old driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
 
It was not immediately determined if officers cited or arrested the driver. There are no reports if drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the incident.
 
Officials continue to investigate the crash.
