Woman Dies after Struck by Metrolink Commuter Train on Chicago Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 8, 2022) – A woman was killed in a train accident at Chicago Avenue and Marlborough Avenue on Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on February 6 near the train crossing on the east end of Riverside. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the woman was on the tracks when the Metrolink Commuter train struck her.
 
Shortly after, Riverside Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the victim’s identity was not immediately released, and it was unclear why she was on the tracks.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
