Morning Car Accident on 15 Freeway in Mountain Pass Area Kills Driver and Injures Passenger

 
MOUNTAIN PASS, CA (January 24, 2022) – A man died and a woman sustained injuries in a car accident on 15 Freeway in Mountain Pass on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. on January 18 just north of Bailey Road and about 15 miles south of Primm, Nevada. CHP official said a 2014 Toyota Camry failed to negotiate a curve on the freeway and veered to its right across the shoulder. It then collided into a rock wall and spun out of control.
 
As a result, the male driver of the car was ejected and suffered major injuries. Arriving paramedics rushed him to St. Rose Hospital in Las Vegas, where he later died.
 
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office only identified the driver as a 34-year-old man from Fort Washington, Maryland.
 
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old female passenger, who was from Capitol Heights, sustained minor injuries.

At this time, alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to be a contributing factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
