Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 86 in Coachella Sends 5 People to Hospital

 
COACHELLA, CA (January 12, 2022) – Five people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 86 in Coachella on Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:22 p.m. on January 10 at Dillon Road. According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire, two vehicles collided at the intersection for unknown reasons.
 
Responding firefighters extricated at least one person. After extricating the patient, they took a total of five people to a hospital.
 
One patient suffered serious injuries, another sustained moderate injuries and three others had minor injuries.
 
At this time, officers are still trying to determine what caused the crash. Further investigation is underway.
