UPDATE: David Lopez Killed in Car Accident at Howard Avenue and Ashlan Avenue [Fresno County, CA]

Fatal Car Accident on Howard Avenue in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 8, 2021) – A driver was killed early Friday morning after a car accident on Howard Avenue in Fresno County.
 
The California Highway Patrol stated the accident happened shortly after 4:00 a.m. on April 2, just north of Ashlan Avenue.
 
The CHP says 27-year-old David Lopez was northbound on Howard Avenue when he drifted across the southbound lane and crashed into a parked trailer carrying a container along the dirt shoulder of the road.
 
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Authorities had closed the roadway while the Fresno County Coroner’s Office conducted their investigation. The road has since reopened.
 
Officers are working to determine the cause of the crash. It is not immediately clear if drugs or alcohol were factors.
