Ray Pittman Arrested in DUI Accident on Palm Avenue [Fresno, CA]

DUI Accident on Palm Avenue in Fresno, Woman and Two Children Sent to Hospital

 
FRESNO, CA (February 23, 2021) – Police arrested 47-year-old Ray Anthony Pittman for DUI after multi-vehicle accident Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 8:00 p.m., February 22 on Palm Avenue near Belmont Avenue.
 
According to Fresno Police Department, a semi-truck was turning southbound on Palm Avenue when a black sedan traveling westbound slowed behind it. An SUV, driven by Pittman, then rear-ended the sedan, pushing it into the back of the semi-trailer.
 
As a result, the mother driving the sedan and her 3-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, sustained injuries from the crash.
 
Paramedics transported the three to a hospital, where the boy was listed in critical condition. The mother and the girl had moderate injuries.
 
Fresno Police gave Pittman a breathalyzer at the scene and determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol at more than twice the legal limit. They arrested and booked him into Fresno County Jail for DUI.
 
An investigation into this DUI crash is ongoing.
