Elderly Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (May 16, 2023) – A 78-year-old man died and Heber Alexander Henriquez was arrested after a hit-and-run crash in Cathedral City Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:05 a.m. on May 14. According to Cathedral City Police Department, the victim was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The victim, a Cathedral City resident, died at the scene.
 
Henriquez, 34, also from Cathedral City, was the driver of the vehicle. Police arrested him and booked him on a homicide charge and hit-and-run resulting in death. He was being held on $1 million dollars bail, according to jail records.
