Elderly Woman Dies after Hit by Two Pickup Trucks in Sunland
SUNLAND, CA (October 10, 2023) – Yong Gustavson was hit and killed by two vehicles in Sunland Thursday morning last week on October 6.
The fatal crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Foothill Boulevard past Sunland Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Gustavson was crossing Foothill Boulevard when a red pickup truck traveling northbound on Foothill struck her.
As Gustavson tried to get to her feet, a black Toyota Tacoma also struck her.
The driver of the red pickup truck did not stop to render aid. The driver of the Tacoma remained on scene and cooperated with police.
Responding paramedics tried saving Gustavson, but she died at the scene. She was a 75-year-old Los Angeles resident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
