Pedestrian Injured by Hit-and-Run Driver Fleeing From Police in Powell Street Accident

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 10, 2024) — A 14-year-old girl was among two people injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Powell Street and Francisco Street.
 
According to the San Francisco police, the hit-and-run incident happened around 7:53 a.m. Tuesday. After seeing a car hit a pedestrian near Jones and Market streets, police began to pursue the driver who immediately fled. Subsequently, the driver traveled recklessly in the Tenderloin area before hitting a 14-year-old girl near Francisco Middle School in North Beach.
 
Seconds later, the suspect vehicle struck other parked and unoccupied vehicles before stopping.
 
Following the incident, officers arrested the driver who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The 14-year-old girl hit near the middle school, as well as the first pedestrian, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
