Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on V Street near 4th Street in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 31, 2024) – A woman sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident on V Street, late Saturday evening.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened on January 27, at about 11:23 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the 300 block of V Street near 4th Street.
 
Emergency crews later transported the victim to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Authorities did not release her name.
 
As per reports, the driver of the vehicle immediately fled the area and failed to render aid.
 
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored pickup truck. Anyone with additional information can call the BPD at (661) 327-7111.
