Experimental Small Plane Crashes into Camarillo Field on Howard Road

 
CAMARILLO, CA (January 31, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries in a small plane accident on Howard Road, Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the incident happened on January 30, at about 1:15 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, the plane went down on the 100 block of Howard Road near a water treatment facility owned by the City.
 
Emergency crews transported two adult passengers to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
 
Investigators described the small plane as an experimental aircraft similar to a Rutan Long-EZ.
 
The National Transportation Safety Board, with assistance from the Ventura County Department of Airports, will investigate the crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
