Major Injuries Sustained in Pedestrian Accident on Mira Mesa Boulevard in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 21, 2021) – A 45-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a pedestrian accident on Mira Mesa Boulevard in San Diego.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened just after 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, near Greenford Drive west of 15 Freeway.
 
Police said a 23-year-old woman was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla westbound in the middle lane. She began merging into the right lane and struck the female pedestrian, who had just stepped off the north curb.
 
As a result, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries, including a skull and a pelvic structure. Paramedics rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
 
The Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
