Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Car near Ironwood Drive in Desert Hot Springs

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (June 21, 2022) – A woman suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident near Ironwood Drive and Ocotillo Road late Saturday evening on June 18.
 
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. just in front of a home in the 66600 block of Ironwood Drive. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the female pedestrian was standing near a parked vehicle when a Chevrolet Cobalt struck her.
 
Police said the driver of the sedan, a 64-year-old Desert Hot Springs resident, drifted to the right for unknown reasons and hit the victim, pinning her against the parked vehicle.
 
As a result of the crash, the pedestrian suffered major injuries. Emergency crews rushed her to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
Police said alcohol or drugs might have played a role in the crash. No arrest were made at this time, but the accident is under investigation.
