Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes 37-Year-Old Pedestrian on Rigel Street in Southcrest

SOUTHCREST, CA (November 22, 2022) – A 37-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Rigel Street in the Southcrest neighborhood.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on November 19. According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was walking southbound across the 1400 block of Rigel Street when an eastbound vehicle approached her and she walked in front of it.

After hitting the woman, the driver fled without stopping.

Paramedics arrived soon after and took the woman, who suffered a pelvic fracture, to a hospital.

Police said the victim’s injury is serious but not life-threatening.
