Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Pickup Truck on 10 Freeway in West Covina
WEST COVINA, CA (July 6, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway in West Covina on Tuesday, July 5.
The fatal accident happened around 12:41 a.m. at the Holt Avenue on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian wearing dark clothing was walking in the slow lane of the eastbound freeway when a white pickup truck with a camper shell struck her.
Witness told officers that the male driver of the truck exited the vehicle and walked around before getting back into the truck and driving away.
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. The CHP is still investigating the accident.
