Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on 24th Street in National City
NATIONAL CITY, CA (July 6, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 24th Street in National City on Tuesday morning, July 5.
The accident happened around 8:20 a.m. near Highland Avenue. According to the National City Police Department, a Dodge Ram pickup truck made a left turn onto 24th Street from Highland Avenue when it hit the victim, who was in a crosswalk.
As a result, the male pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with police.
Police believe the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash. Further investigation is underway.
