Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Trolley on Tracks near Main Street and Lemon Grove Avenue

 
LEMON GROVE, CA (January 14, 2023) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident near Main Street and Lemon Grove Avenue early Wednesday morning on January 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on the tracks that run between Main and Lemon Grove. According to authorities, the female pedestrian walked along the tracks when a northbound trolley struck her.
 
The victim died before she could be taken to a hospital. Her identity was not immediately available.
 
Metropolitan Transit System operations were temporarily suspended while the crash was investigated.
