Police Arrest DUI Hit-and-Run Suspect after Deadly Crash in West Covina

 
WEST COVINA, CA (December 3, 2022) – A woman died and police arrested Luis Banuelos after a DUI hit-and-run crash in West Covina on Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:10 p.m. on December 1, at the intersection of Sunset Avenue and Cameron Avenue. According to the West Covina Police Department, the 32-year-old suspect had recently stolen from a nearby business. While driving, he crashed into another vehicle.
 
A woman in the other vehicle was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Banuelos fled the scene on foot after the crash. Police later located him and arrested him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and hit-and-run with injuries.
 
Police said two unidentified others who fled are still at large.
