Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on South Union Avenue in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 31, 2024) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash South Union Avenue in Bakersfield early Friday morning on March 29.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection with Hosking Avenue. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the woman was walking east in the 7700 block of Union when she was struck by a light-colored car traveling north.
 
After the crash, the driver of the car did not stop.
 
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
Bakersfield police is still investigating the fatality. They urged anyone with information to contact them at 661-327-7111.
