61-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on International Boulevard in East Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (March 7, 2022) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run on International Boulevard in East Oakland, early Saturday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:15 a.m. on March 5. According to the Oakland Police Department, the woman was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle struck her. Officers found her lying in the westbound lanes of the 9000 block of International Boulevard.
 
The woman, a 61-year-old Pittsburg resident, died at the scene. Police did not release her identity pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the scene after the crash.
 
It is unknown if alcohol, drugs or the vehicle’s speed were factors in the crash.
 
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the driver. They asked anyone with information to call police traffic investigators at 510-777-8570 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
