Coroner Identifies Seth Strader as 1 of 2 Fatal Victims in Oxnard Head-On Crash

OXNARD, CA (March 5, 2022) – Seth A. Strader was among two people who died in a head-on accident in Oxnard, late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on March 2 in the 300 block of Harbor Boulevard south of Gonzales Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Strader was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza northbound when he lost control of his car. He then swerved right onto the dirt shoulder and veered left across both lanes into oncoming traffic.
 
The Subaru and a southbound Ford Explorer with four people inside collided head-on.
 
Strader, a 44-year-old Ventura resident, and a passenger in the Ford both died at the scene.
 
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office only described the passenger as a male from Oxnard. They withheld his identity pending next of kin notification.
 
The driver of the Ford, a 46-year-old Oxnard man, and the two surviving passengers, Oxnard men age 31 and 44, suffered major injuries. Paramedics took them to Ventura County Medical Center and Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
 
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
